I would like to discuss how to make metaphorical lemons into lemonade, and take a safety first, social distancing birthday party, and turn it into a magically funtastic event your whole family won’t soon forget.
As a parent throughout these corona times, we’ve been given the daunting challenge of juggling precaution and safety while keeping the magic and fun of childhood alive. Birthday parties are something our children look forward to each year, and even in this year like none other, I would like to offer some ways to still host a magically memorable socially distanced birthday party.
Safety First – Social Distancing Rules:
- Guests should stay 6 feet apart from those outside their immediate family unit.
- Gatherings cannot exceed 10 people (as of the writing of this blog, in Stage 2).
- Wash your hands frequently.
- Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth.
- Snacks and drinks when possible should be individually wrapped, with names of guests written on them to avoid confusion.
- And of course, if anyone is experiencing Covid-19 symptoms they should not attend a live event.
With all these rules, how can you still make a social distancing party fun? I’m glad you asked! While Birthday Party Parades are still common, and were even more popular earlier on in the quarantine, as restrictions continue to open up a little, people really crave the opportunity to spend time together, even if at a safe distance.
So with small physical birthday parties starting to re-emerge, the prospect of live entertainment in many parts of the country is back on the table. That’s right, your son or daughter could have a real life magician perform a social distancing magic show in their backyard. As group sizes are limited to 10 as of the writing of this blog, it would probably just include very close family and friends, but still, it would be a real life birthday party, outside in the fresh air, with real life entertainment, and real life wonder and laughter.
Children are always the stars of my magic show, and even while respecting social distancing guidelines, I am still able to have them participate throughout. Whether it’s wiggling their fingers, shouting out magic words, selecting cards, or letting me know about all the magical hijinks happening under my nose, your little guests will be completely involved and wrapped up in the fun. They will even learn how to do a couple of magic tricks, which is equal parts empowering and mind-blowing.
So if you would like to throw a magically memorable, social distancing birthday party or any other type of social distancing party, call or email today. I would love to further reinforce to your child why you’re their hero, the one who threw them an epic birthday party in the middle of the corona summer of 2020.
